The 2012 Chianti Riserva Castelrotto is quite pretty and delicate in this vintage. Sweet red cherries, crushed flowers, mint and gentle spices all take shape. Reflecting the more modest quality of the year compared with 2013, the 2012 Riserva is feminine in style, with a lifted, floral expression of fruit and mid-weight structure. It, too, is incredibly delicious. Bright rose petal and raspberry notes add the final shades of nuance.
