February's Wine Review

Thomas Goss Shiraz

Dan's Review:

February can be a rough month in New York.  The anticipation of the holidays and their glow have passed us by and spring is still a far off dream of warmth and sunshine.   I chose the Thomas Goss Shiraz this month for a number of reasons, one of which is that the spice and body of the wine are real standouts for winter foods.  This Shiraz is a big wine that can stand on its own but works even better with the hearty stews and comfort food we enjoy over the winter.

The nose of the wine is fruity with a little spice, and it doesn't disappoint on the first sip. Opening with some spice, it’s sweet, but not too sweet.  The sweet and spicy balance of the wine carries the fruit in a powerful way, opening up to more fruit flavor as you continue drinking it.  Highly recommended for the cold days of February the Thomas Goss Shiraz will keep you warm this winter. At only $15.99 it is truly a great buy.
